Drug UsesPrazosin is used for treating high blood pressure and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
How TakenUse Prazosin as directed by your doctor.
- Take Prazosin by mouth with or without food.

Drug Class and MechanismPrazosin is in a class of drugs called alpha-adrenergic blockers. Prazosin causes the blood vessels (veins and arteries) to relax and expand, which allows blood to pass more easily through them.
Missed DoseIf you miss a dose of Prazosin, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Storage Store Prazosin at room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Keep Prazosin out of the reach of children and away from pets.
